
TINA PHELPS (L.I.S.T.D.)
Tina trained locally at the 'San Toy' school of dance until the age of sixteen. She successfully auditioned for the prestigious 'Laine Theatre Arts College' and went on to train there for a further three years. She was appointed head girl during her final year and was then offered a teaching position by Miss Laine.
After a year of teaching at the college she then travelled to Canada and spent six years training dancers and teachers in the I.S.T.D and Cecchetti methods of dance. She became the area co-ordinator for the modern and tap exams as well as choreographing for many shows and professional pantomimes.
In the summer of 1995 Tina returned to England and became a freelance teacher for many well-established schools including a full time dance college and a school for children with special needs.
Her qualifications include four Associates, two Diplomas and a Licentiate in Tap. Over the past twenty years she has had a 100% pass rate with the pupil's exams. Tina teaches all of the modern and tap at the school.
Achieving her final ambition was to own her own school which opened its doors for the first time in September 1997. Tina has had the honour of being selected to teach at the I.S.T.D in London with pupils from her school and also supplies them with children for major exams. Some of the pupils recently performed at the 'Shaftesbury Theatre' in London's West End. The school has gone from strength to strength and continues to operate in a friendly environment.

JAYNE HARVEY (A.I.S.T.D.) (Dip).
Jayne trained as a dancer until the age of sixteen and then entered the Royal Ballet School. After three years she joined the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet company (now Birmingham Royal Ballet), and travelled all over the world performing a varied repertoire i.e. - Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia and many more.
After returning to Southend and successfully passing her teaching exams, she was employed at a local school where she taught for ten years and was head of ballet at the school for the last eight. Jayne has been with the 'Tina Phelps Stage School' since October 2002 and is responsible for all of the ballet classes at the school.
CHARLOTTE MARSTON
Charlotte trained locally, first with Mona Johnston of "San Toy" and then "Star Studios" on Canvey.
She then went on to train for a further three years at "Master's Performing Arts College." Charlottes qualifications include; AISTD Ballet, Modern and Tap, and ALAMDA Drama. Charlotte is now a full time teacher but did perform in Greece and Turkey for a while and also performed Cabaret in London. Now settled back in the UK Charlotte is happy to be teaching festival, exam and show choreography work to a very high standard. Charlotte is currently running ACT III our Saturday school as well as teaching various classes for Tina throughout the week. Charlotte also teaches for other local schools.
PAUL ALLNUTT
Paul Trained at 'Masters Performing Arts College' in Rayleigh, Essex. He has had an extensive performing career appearing in many shows and musicals including 'Fame' UK tour, 'Grease', UK tour, and 'West Side Story' in London's Prince Edward + Prince of Wales West End Theatre. Paul has performed on Royal Caribbean Cruises as a singer and dancer and has also danced on television. His teaching experience is vast and versatile. He teaches Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Audition Technique and many more subjects. In his spare time he also practises as an Anatomy and deep tissue massage therapist. Paul teaches the very popular Jazz and Musical Theatre classes at the school.
DONNA DYE
Donna has had a passion for dance as long as she can remember. Having taken dance lessons since she was four, she then went on to train professionally at 'Performers Dance College' and graduated in 2007. Whilst at college and since graduating she has been involved in various projects. These include being a dancer at the 'Sands Casino' in Macau China, a supporting artiste for many programs/films including 'Missing' shown on BBC and she has also been involved in many theatre productions. Although Donna loves to perform her real passion lies in teaching. She teaches various styles at many schools including Street, Ballet and Tap and enjoys passing on her knowledge to others to help them be the best they can be.
JO LIVERMORE
Jo now teaches breakdancing for all ages at the school every Wednesday from 5.30 - 6.30pm. Jo is part of a crew called 'Flava Squad' who represented the UK in Las Vegas at the World Hip Hop Breakdance Championships after winning the UK qualifiers. He has also performed with 'Madonna' Sweet & Sticky Tour, Britannia High, and Harry Potter film 'The Prisoner of Askaban'. He was also part of the Great Britain Gymnastics team for seven years. His classes are extremely popular and we are very pleased to have him as part of our dedicated team of staff.
